Course Overview
This qualification covers competencies to select, install, commission, fault find and maintain equipment and systems for the control of plant, machines and processes. It includes an understanding of industrial instrumentation and electronics as well as PLC programming applied to industrial control.
Duration
Our flexible delivery allows students to progress at their own pace, therefore the duration will vary with experience and capabilities of different students.
The recommended duration of this qualification is 120h, for students that need to complete all the 11 units that are part of this qualifiation.
Note: Students that have a Cert. IV in Hazardous Areas (UEE42611 or 42620) might be eligible for Credit Transfer for units CD0010, UEECD0024, UEERE0015, UEECD0027.
Delivery
This course consists of two parts:
- Theory delivery and assessments - The theory delivery and assessments can be done online or face to face, or a blend between modes - some units can be completed at home and others face to face, depending on students needs, schedules and capabilities (recommended time: 80h).
- Practical delivery and assessessments - The practial delivery and assessments can be done on campus or online or a blend between modes - some units can be completed at home and others face to face, depending on students needs, schedules and capabilities. The total recommended time for practical assessments is 40h.

Remote Classes in Sydney take place at 46 Edward Street, Summer Hill (subject to confirmation).
For other locations, please Contact us. We are available to take our training to where is needed (conditions apply - a minimum number of students is needed for remote classes).

This course provides introductory knowledge and skills in industrial electronics and process automation. This qualification is made up of 11 core units and a range of elective units of competency. In order to attain this qualification, students need to complete the 6 core units plus 5 elective units:
* Students that have completed a Cert. IV in Hazardous Areas (UEE42611 or 42620) might be eligible for Credit Transfer and not need to complete these units.

To be eligible to undertake the course you must currently hold a UEE30820 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician OR a current ‘Unrestricted Electricians Licence’ or its equivalent issued in an Australian state or territory.
If students do not have an Unrestricted Electrical Licence but still wish to do some or all units of competency that are part of this qualification, they will be issued a Statement of Attendance (after Meo Training analized the situation and considered that the student has sufficient prior knowledge to attend the unit(s)).
If students wish to enroll in just one or some of the units of competency that are part of this qualification, Meo Training will analize the situation and consider that the student has sufficient prior knowledge to attend the unit(s). In those cases, they will be issued a Statement of Attendance or a Statement of Attainment (depending on the situation).
