Course Overview
This qualification is ideal for electricians wanting to work in hazardous areas. It covers all aspects of hazards, protection, testing and inspections.

Duration
Our flexible delivery allows students to progress at their own pace, therefore the duration will vary with experience and capabilities of different students.
The recommended duration of this qualification is 96h to complete the 6 core units + 6 elective units. This includes at least 1 day of face to face for practical component. ​

Delivery
This course consists of two parts:
- Theory delivery and assessments - The theory delivery and assessments can be done online or face to face.
- Practical delivery and assessessments - The practial delivery and assessments needs to be done on campus.

Location
Our classes will take place at our Brisbane Campus at Suite 6, 28 Old Cleveland Road, Stones Corner, Brisbane, QLD.
Remote Classes in Sydney take place at 46 Edward Street, Summer Hill (subject to confirmation).

Course Outline
​This course covers all aspects of hazards, protection, testing and inspections.
The table below shows the list of units to be completed as part of the Cert. IV in Hazardous Areas. The units highlighted in red are the units that do not need to be completed in case only a Electro Equipment in Hazardous Areas (EEHA) qualification is wanted.

UEECD0024 - Implement and monitor energy sector WHS policies and procedures
UEECD0027 - Participate in development and follow a personal competency development plan
UEERE0015 - Implement and monitor energy sector environmental and sustainable policies and procedures
UEEIC0021 - Find and rectify faults in process final control elements
UEEHA0003- Determine the explosion-protection requirements to meet a specified classified hazardous area
UEEHA0004- Enter a classified hazardous area to undertake work related to electrical equipment systems
Elective Units
UEEHA0001- Conduct detailed inspection of electrical installations for hazardous areas
UEEHA0002- Conduct visual and close inspection of electrical installations for hazardous areas
UEEHA0005- Install explosion-protected equipment and associated apparatus and wiring systems
UEEHA0006- Maintain equipment associated with hazardous areas
C UEEHA0007- Plan electrical installations for hazardous areas
UEEHA0009- Develop and manage periodic electrical inspection and maintenance programs for hazardous areas
