UEE31225 Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control

Brisbane, Sydney & On-Site Delivery

The UEE31225 Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control provides a comprehensive, nationally recognized qualification in electronic control systems, calibration, and automation engineering. This qualification is highly regarded by industrial employers, mining companies, and processing contractors worldwide. While our primary practical labs are located in Brisbane and Sydney, Meo Training offers agile on-site and remote training blocks globally—including regional engineering hubs and international locations like Papua New Guinea—wherever a viable cohort or corporate group is enrolled together.

Instrumentation Course Entry Requirements & Prerequisites

Do I need an electrical licence to enrol in the Certificate III?

No. Unlike post-trade streams, the UEE31225 Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control does not require an active Australian Electrical Work Licence to enrol. This makes it the ideal, accessible pathway for instrumentation apprentices, instrument fitters, mechanical technicians, and international students looking to enter the automation and process control sectors.

Course Overview
This qualification provides competencies to select, install, set up, test, fault find, repair and maintain systems and devices for measurement and recording of physical/chemical phenomenon and related process control. It provides certified electricians with a dual trade in electrical / instrumentation, which is a skill in high demand.

Duration
Our flexible delivery allows students to progress at their own pace, therefore the duration will vary with experience and capabilities of different students.
The recommended duration of this qualification is 213h, for students that need to complete all the 16 core units + 3 elective units that are part of this qualification (7 of the core units are always credit transferred from the Australian Electrical Licence).
Students that have a Cert. IV in Electrical instrumentation (UEE40420 or 40411) are eligible for Credit Transfer for 6 more core units, having to complete only 11 core units + 3 elective units.

Delivery
This course consists of two parts:
- Theory delivery and assessments - The theory delivery and assessments can be done online with trainer support.
- Practical delivery and assessessments - The practial delivery and assessments are to be done on campus.
