Course Overview
This qualification covers competencies to select, install, commission, fault find and maintain equipment and systems for the control of plant, machines and processes. It includes an understanding of calibration and commissioning of Pressure, Level, Density, Flow and Temperature Transmitters, as well as PLC programming.

Duration
Our flexible delivery allows students to progress at their own pace, therefore the duration will vary with experience and capabilities of different students.
The recommended duration of this qualification is 120h, for students that need to complete all the 11 units that are part of this qualifiation.
Note: Students that have a Cert. IV in Hazardous Areas (UEE42611 or 42620) might be eligible for Credit Transfer for units CD0010, UEECD0024, UEERE0015, UEECD0027, as well as Group B electives (no need to complete).

Delivery
This course consists of two parts:
- Theory delivery and assessments - The theory delivery and assessments can be done online or face to face, or a blend between modes - some units can be completed at home and others face to face, depending on students needs, schedules and capabilities (recommended time: 80h).
- Practical delivery and assessessments - The practial delivery and assessments can be done on campus or online or a blend between modes - some units can be completed at home and others face to face, depending on students needs, schedules and capabilities. The total recommended time for practical assessments is 40h.

Our classes will take place at our Brisbane Campus at Suite 6, 28 Old Cleveland Road, Stones Corner, Brisbane, QLD.
Remote Classes in Sydney take place at 46 Edward Street, Summer Hill (subject to confirmation).

Course Outline
​This course provides introductory knowledge and skills in instrumentation and process automation. This qualification is made up of 9 core units and a range of elective units of competency. In order to attain this qualification, students need to complete the 9 core units plus 1 unit from each elective group:

UEECD010 * - Compile and produce an energy sector detailed report
UEERE0015 * - Implement and monitor energy sector environmental and sustainable policies and procedures
UEECD0024* - Implement and monitor energy sector WHS policies and procedures
UEECD0027* - Participate in development and follow a personal competency development plan
UEEIC0038 - Solve problems in density/level measurement components and systems
UEEIC0039 - Solve problems in flow measurement components and systems
UEEIC0041 - Solve problems in pressure measurement components and systems
UEEIC0043 - Solve problems in temperature measurement components and systems
UEEIC0047 - Use instrumentation drawings, specifications, standards and equipment manuals
Elective Units Group B
UEEIC0013* - Develop, enter and verify discrete control programs for programmable controllers
Elective Units Group C (Choose 1)
UEEIC0015 - Develop, enter and verify word and analogue control programs for programmable logic controllers
UEEIC0026 - Provide solutions to fluid circuit operations

Pre-requisitesTo be eligible to undertake the course you must currently hold a UEE30820 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician OR a current ‘Unrestricted Electricians Licence’ or its equivalent issued in an Australian state or territory.​If students do not have an Unrestricted Electrical Licence but still wish to do some or all units of competency that are part of this qualification, they will be issued a Statement of Attendance (after Meo Training analized the situation and considered that the student has sufficient prior knowledge to attend the unit(s)).​If students wish to enroll in just one or some of the units of competency that are part of this qualification, Meo Training will analize the situation and consider that the student has sufficient prior knowledge to attend the unit(s).
